Microsoft made versions of Internet Explorer for PCs that needlessly disable QuickTime. That problem should be resolved when you download and install a recent version of QuickTime.

If you have recently installed QuickTime and the video is still not playing, your browser may not be using it properly. If so that's easy to fix:

  • From the "Start" menu, open the "QuickTime Settings" control panel
  • Choose "Browser Plugin"
  • Click the "MIME Types" button
  • Make sure ".mov video/quicktime" is selected
  • Click "OK"
